Hood Squeak!!! Agh!!

I tried using the search but I couldn't find anything. (I'm sure there's something somewhere, tho)

There's a squeak coming FROM my hood... I keep hitting the hindges and latch with WD-40, but it keeps coming back. It's starting to become a daily thing and it's ticking me off... HELP!!! How do I get rid of it once and for-all???

WD-40 is as good as spraying water on it.

this is common. mine does it too. you need to adjust the rubber stoppers at the front.

I had to lower my actual hood latch assembly. I moved it around 1/4" down and the sound went away. Not sure why it was like that tho.

squeak squeaker squeeken

graphite, lithium grease, moly-b,Silicone spray are all lubricants, WD-40, Liquid Wrench, are made to loosen rust and seized bolts.

it might be a squirrel stuck under the hood, watch the movie "The Emperor's New Groove" to learn to speak squirrel. I believe Cronk has that merit badge.

Squeekity squeek squeek squeeker?

Anyways...lol.....yeah, the creaky wooden bridge noise? Rubber stoppers most likely. I put a dab of vasaline on mine, rubbed it in instead of leaving it globbed on. Worked fine fer me.

I lubed the hinges, latch, and rubber stoppers on Friday and no more squeaks. I used a spray lubricant but I will go back and use some white lithium grease.
