how much do you pay for insurance?
I wanted to buy a Z32 soon, until I called to get a quote from my insurance company (Allstate). Even though I am under my parents policy, they quoted me:
$382/month for the TT or
$352/month for the 2+2
That is with full coverage. I could barely afford this, but way more than the $210/month I'm paying for my GS-R right now. What do you guys pay, for what kind of coverage, and with what company?
thanks much
Tim

Allstate insurance. I just don't understand why it's so high. It's on my parent's policy with no one with any accidents ever or tickets. I currently pay $210/month for full coverage for my Integra GS-R. Although I was REALLY looking forward to a Z, I just can't see paying $385/month

Thanks though

I've shopped around alot for insurance. I pay $1500/year right now through State Farm for full coverage. I have no tickets, but 1 at-fault accident from over 4 years ago. All State and Farmers were the most expensive when I shopped. Check Out American Express. If you have a Costco membership they give you a discount. Go to www.costco.com. Click on services, then auto insurance. You can plug in all of your auto info and they'll give you a quote right there. They pissed me off because they quoted me $1278/year, but the actual premium wound up being $1426. It isn't a huge savings over State Farm, but if you have 2 cars and you insure them both through AMEX, then you do get a big multi-line discount. Since I'm looking at buying a truck and having the Z be my weekend driver I ran some quotes through them. With 2 cars, they'll save me over $500/year! Since they mis-quoted me and couldn't give me a reason as to why the $ figure changed I cancelled it, but that was pretty stupid of me. I need to call them back and have it reinstated. It still saves me $.

i think my age is the biggest factor. i just went to geico.com, statefarm.com, and progressive.com, and state farm was the cheapest at $365/month for full coverage. the only thing that sucks, is even if i waited for my insurance to go down when i'm 21 or 25, the z32 z's would all be getting old and rusted. sucks ***** bigtime. i'm not willing to risk just liability either

You don't need one. You don't even need to be a member of Costco either. You just get a discount if you are a member. Just try it. What's the worst that could happen? They quote you a higher policy. If so, then move on.
