Ignition Recall
I found that there was a recall on this for the car. But when i called nissan they told me that there was no such recall and that there wasnt anyrecall on the car for that. Now ive found it in many places, is there a way to find out from nissan say via web or something like that . Thanks

It's the power transistor unit that you're speaking of I believe. Try calling again and mentioning that specific recall. Other than that, I'm not quite sure what you can do. A previous owner may have already had it replaced, you have to give them your vin # and they should tell you rather it's been replaced or not.

It wasn't a recall. It was a technical service bulletin. It was only on a specific number of cars. A small number. More than likely it's been taken care of already.
If you wanna make sure just find the PTU. It'll be by the upper radiator hose. It should be a small plastic case with a bunch of wires coming out of it at both ends. It's like the Z's equivalent to a distributor cap, as it sends the signals to the ignition coils. It should be the small plastic black one. If you have the one with the aluminum heatsink, you'll want to change that one out. That one is prone to failure and will leave you stranded somewhere. If your car won't turn on and has generally no response while everything else is normal, that'll usually be the culprit.
