I've grown tired of gold.

I'm leaning towards black/grey, but I kinda like the silver/grey, too. Silver/grey is common, though... black lips haven't caught on (yet). I just want to see people's opinions (not the opinions of ricers, please... you know who you are).

Keep in mind, when I did black OEM wheels, I was ridiculed for black wheels being "too NASCAR"... and look how popular black wheels became. There were at least 10 TT.NET members who followed suit with black wheels. So don't base your response on what's popular, base it on what looks good.

Edit: Damn streetneeds being blocked... that's annoying.

i dont like ALL black wheels for the fact they blend to much with the tire and it just looks way off. i dont mind the black rim gray center, but the silver rim looks a bit nicer in my opinion.

I think the black/gray color scheme looks very good on your car. I imagine you will match color the center caps?

-and I did notice that street needs was blocked... not sure why. I'll look into that-

One of my favorite pics:

I initially wanted to see it rendered with a black hub, but nobody obliged to that request. I don't think the silver hub looks bad... but if someone could photoshop a black hub on there for me, I'd appreciate it. I'm a mathematician, so I don't have the software nor the artistic touch to do it.

And Eric, I disagree on the blacked out comment... and here's one pic to demonstrate how good blacked-out Z's can look...

I think black/silver would be the best. A look I saw on a lambo once that I really liked (although it's not a option you had given) was flat black for the main body with gloss black on the lip. Pure Sex

^ that's basically when I'm looking at doing, only not "black" spokes. The lip will be a shiny black (I think I recall a paint called "Black Chrome" that I'll try), and the spokes will be medium- to dark-grey.

Rendering with a black hub (I don't like it):

I'm still leaning towards the first (black lip, grey spokes, silver hub).

NismoPick - If I recall correctly, street needs is blocked because of the guy who was posting goatse all over the place.

i like the second picture you posted. silver lip, gray spokes, and whatever those centers are. pretty nice. i'd keep the silver lip with those wheels though.

I think the gray spokes / silver lip look better on your black car.

that pic of mikes car is b&w tho. i will say it looks hot regardless

i honestly really dont like those wheels at all, but i think a dark grey color would look best. no black, no silver; just completely grey

I like the gold.

The black isnt horrible, but keep the center matched to the lip, it looks better.

Thats my opinion.

Indeed. The black hub / rim one color and the spokes another.

I like that monochrome look on your car, too.

I like the silver lip. it adds contrast to the vehicle and makes your wheels stand out (in a good way). with the black lip it blends in too much and it doesn't show off those nice wheels.

Both look good. However, since it seems like you're going for the stealth look, and the fact that the rest of the car is conservatively OEM looking, I don't think you'll be happy with the silver lip (which happens to be what I prefer). Regardless of what I prefer, I do like the all black lip idea, but like you already know, the spokes can't be all black like the rim. The silver/grey is a definite NO!No!! on that car, and I'm so glad the only gold you're interested in are the ones at the stock market.

Yeah... but those pics were taken before the Kaminari spoiler and a Stillen Type-III lip is going on eventually But as we all know, those mods just look like enhanced OEM parts (and that's the goal - the same old 300ZX, yet somehow changed... and normal folk can't put their finger on it).

I really don't like the black hubs, so I'm thinking those are going to stay silver and I'll probably go with the black lip (I like how the color fades to black as it moves away from the center of the wheel)... silver lips are seriously way too common for me and I've never been into shiny parts... hell, my polished mufflers are painted black.

IMHO when body mods are done right that's the effect you should get!!!

When I looked at it earlier on my phone I didn't like it, but looking at it now at my home on a screen they don't look bad at all. I've never seen any one with black lips on their wheels before now. It would be nice to see some more pictures. Maybe different angles and a close up?

Hope nobody's getting their hopes up... next time you'll see pics of those wheels on a Z will be at least a year from now and it won't be that Z.

Jumped it... started on 5 of 6 cylinders, revved it to clear its throat, died and began pissing coolant from the rear driver's side. Only explanation is a problem I had 2 years ago coming back to bite me in the *** - the head gasket (I had problems getting that head torqued down at the rear bolts).

So I'm getting rid of that car, taking all my mods and spending the next year building a nice, tight, healthy engine, and I'll find a clean chassis to put it in.
