I have a RPS maxsport, it's been faithful for a year and a half now, and I'm not easy on it. Don't get a JWT, even my buddies nitrous powered NA couldn't use it without burning it out BAD!!

ACT six puck clutch would be good for you...it holds pretty nice and it doesn't stink

NOt to neglect what you're saying, but I had a friend that had an ACT clutch ( 6 puck) and it slipped quite a bit actually and installing it right was quite a pain too.

Stay away from the centerforce clutches! I've heard alot of complaints about them.

Rps clutches are pretty good. I recommend the rps flywheel too,if you haven't replaced the stock one yet.

OS Giken is another good clutch manufacturer. They tend to be expensive though. You can check out all the online retailers that are in the Z32 general info thread.

OS Giken is a good clutch and yes they are expensive. I'd say get an RPS. I'll tell you why. And get the flywheel too. I'll tell you why. THe RPS has four segmented pieces that allow the whole unit to cool. Others don't and what happens is only the center stays cool and the outsides get real hot and the clutch starts slipping.

The clutch might start slipping but not just because of the cooling characteristics. If you go to http://www.specialtyz.com/rpsflywheel.htm it'll explain that warpage could occur with regular aluminum flywheels. The segments are there so that the sections can heat up/expand and cool down/contract independently of each other to prevent warping.
Yes, warped flywheels will make the clutch slip.

Well,

I have had nothing but horrible luck with RPS and their clutches. I had the orginal RPS Stage III Carbon/Copper Spring 6 puck. The first one would never disengage cause it was milled too thick. I then went through two slave cylinder hoses, 3 slave cylinders till I finally got one to hold the pressure. Then the clutch burned up while my wife was driving, it looked like it was wore out almost and might not have lasted much longer had my wife destroyed it.

I'm not sure on their new ones, but when I emailed and called them about this horrible clutch they were not really reactive, I had to basically bitch and moan to get proper service.

I'm currently using a JWT Heavy Duty clutch that is *MUCH* nicer and holds power fine.

I had one of their earlier ones I do believe the problem was the pressure plate was just too heavy, it was blowing slave cylinders, hoses, and everything else that it could burst.

I'm suprised I didn't blow the master cylinder while I was at it, I think they redesinged the pressure plate, but I don't know since I got rid of mine. Went through dropping the tranny by myself 3 times fooling around with RPS, I won't go back

Well, whenever my clutch decides to go out, I'll be buying one of theirs. I'll let you know how it goes. Whenever that'll be of course.
