I Hope some one can help me. I have a bad leak in my power steering. I replaced some cracked hoses on the resevoir but the leak seems to be oozing from the pulley. Should I count on replacing the pump? The pressure hose seems fine. Is this a fix I can do myself? I had no trouble replacing a brake booster and master cylnder on my 76 datsun 280z. Hard to find a shop manual on my 300zx. Can you help a gal out? Thank s!

 

make sure the leak is coming from the pump itself. If it is, then I'm pretty sure you'll have to replace it. Whether you can do it by yourself or not, that's up to your ability. the Z32 is much harder to work on than an S30.

 

The power steeering pump is likely shot. That is a replacement that should not be waited on. It can leak onto the alt and damage that as well. If anyone is having to do this they should just replace the whole line system and pump and be done with the issue. It is an older car now so expect these issues to happen.
