Quick Question

Hey, I have a 91 300Zx with 140,XXX on the engine and I'm planning to take a trip down to Monterrey from the Bay Area, Which is about a 200 mile drive round trip. My cars runs fine no problems at all, but im a little worried, it shouldnt be a problem right. I just feel that this would be the best place to ask to see whats up.

if the car is in good running condition why would it be a problem? I've driven mine much more than 200 miles in one trip. heck, my '87 z31 made the trip between San Diego and Seattle non-stop quite a few times, and it had 180k on it.

200 miles round trip on a highway isn't that bad, I mean I drive mine 200 miles a week in town driving easily and its got all kinds of issues.

Even if something did happen, you are only going to be a hundred miles from either side at max, and thats like a 50 dollar tow bill (here anyway). You should be fine.

Well thanks alot you guys now i can enjoy my trip.

^ Unless there are latent cooling system issues (from dried hoses to a blockage). Or if his engine has ANY trace of rod knock. etc etc etc

No intelligent person is going to guarantee you that any car will make any trip ever. You might suffer catastrophic failure that was completely unforeseen. But quit being a *****... pack up a basic tool kit and go on your trip.

I keep a Nissan Emergency Roadside kit in the car, which comes with pliers, screwdrivers, duct tape, and things of that sort. Because you never know when something is going to break at a critical time.

i pretty much almost always keep my tool bag in the car. if i'm just going around town though, i take it out cause it slides around and dumps out too often. but for any distances, yeah, my fairly well rounded tool kit stays in the car, as does antifreeze and oil, and sometimes ATF.

My Nissan Emergency Roadside kit is two screwdrivers and a 10mm wrench. Lol I'm kidding. I have a 12mm wrench, too.
