Random Idea I thought of

I'll admit, I do like the body style and how stiff the body feels of the Z32, but I HATE that engine, just no room to do anything and the maintenance is just to much.

So I was just wondering, not saying I'll do this but...

What If I found a Z32 rolling body that has no engine and I put in an L engine? I'm thinking I would need to remount the radiator forward a bit and I'd have to use electric fans. But what do you think? I'd probably keep the Z32 trans too and I'm not talking a stock L engine either, I mean a modded turbo or something.

Just an Idea, please dont bite my head off over it lol

The L28ET would be quite a downgrade to the VG30DE / TT motor... old technology and underpowered. To get the power up to a comparable level as the VG, you'd spend more than to build or modify a VG.

If you want an inline six Z32, drop in an RB26DET / TT.

If I ever make it back over to Metric Motors in Centerville, I'll take a pic of a Z32TT manual transmission they modified to fit an L28. Quite wild! The guy said they had about 15 hours into the bell housing.

Ya i've seen the kit too, you need the shave the bell housing down and then bolt on this adapter plate.

yay for decreases in displacement!! /lameness

If you're scared of the VG30DETT, there are plenty of shops who'll take your money. The Z32 isn't great just because it looks good, but also because of the powerplant.

I dont trust shops. End of story, I barley trust the tire shop to do the alignment on my Z!

And I doubt I'll ever do this lol just wondering what you think of it as I know I've seen a Z32 with an L28 in it. Course is was bored and stroked to 3.1L So not really much loss in displacement lol And I bet if its built/tuned right you'd have as much maybe more then the VG engine. Not a modded VG but ya.
