Sometimes my car makes me feel stupid
So I was driving my car around one Sunday morning. Came back home to shower real quick and then go to church. I come out and go to leave and my car suddenly has no power! It won't start. so I stomp back inside pissed. Well, I didn't touch it until tomorow thinking it was going to take some time to fix and didn't want to leave it unfixed and Wednesday's are my only free days (until 4). so I go to charge my battery with the charger to begin diagnosing. Well, I lift up the rubber insulator on the positive pole of the battery and the stupid thing it off the terminal!! I must have not tightened it down all the way and it popped off. Well, it was an easy fix, but made me feel really stupid. If I would have just popped the hood and looked, I would have been ok. Well, anyone else have any stories like this?

it's even more scary if that happens and causes it to short out against the firewall while you're driving. That happened to me twice (happened once, and then again when I was on my way home to fix it). Always nice to lose power steering and power braking while you're in the middle of a turn (at the time I had no battery tie down, which was the cause of the whole thing for me)

So, what's your point? Follow the cable from the negative battery terminal....where does it go? That's right,...the chassis. Your dad did nothing wrong.
