Close...the tranny bolts up exactly the same. the bolt pattern dosent change. the difference is the bell housing of the transmission itself.

hmm...yeha i could see that as benificial to cylinder lubrication. i wonder why they wouldnt just save manufacturing and production money and leave those standard in all the engines, only thing different should be the compression and the rear end diff's, nissan makes no sense for the other reasons. they must've wasted so much money designing differnt internals in teh engine and transmission housings, and its kinda pointless no?

How many stock internal engines have you seen that can handle 500rwhp without major internal work? In the end I do believe the VG30DETT was the best V6 ever produced.

But yes, cost was a major reason for the 300zx to be cancelled in the long run. The new 350z isn't as quite overengineered and the quality difference in the interior and some aspects of the car is quite obvious.

Yeah thats prettymuch a copy/paste from Z1's swap writeup in their technical information page... I refer to that alot especially since im currently planning my own conversion which Z1 is going to do the bulk of the work.
