THIS SUCKS
I whent to the bank in the morning and I parked my ride where the security can see it. The funny thing is someone back up into to it giving my Z a deep scratch in my front bumber and causing my paint to chip and braking my passenger side fog light. Well I get out off the bank ready to get in my car when i noticed glass was on the floor as I got closer I saw the damage I whent to the security and ask him if he saw who hit my Z he said he didnt see nothing, so its a hit and run. The person who hit could of at least left a sorry note but no they left nothing now the body shops whant to charge me 1,500 and up just to fix and repaint my bumber aqnd replace a fog light. You don't have full coverage insurance? I know it's usually pretty high if you are young but at least it's something you know is coming.
Where as when someone hits your car and you have to shell out a lump sum of 2/3/4k at once it really hurts..
You should get insurance..

Re: THIS SUCKS
Hey, I know where you're coming from, my car was backed into in a parking lot while I was working! Well it just so happened that a coworker's boyfriend was waiting for her outside, saw the whole thing and wrote down the number for me and they busted the sucker!
What I was going to ask was, doesn't the insurance company have any policies covering hit and run? Or is that a separate category? Have you tried to file a claim yet, or do you not want to get into it for some reason? Here they cover you as long as your car's insured no mater what coverage you have, the deductible is different depending on your coverage.
My condolences, I know how crappy it feels to come out and see your poor baby all wrecked =(

Well that's how it works here, if there's a hit and run they treat it like a no fault accident and no one's insurance goes up unless they find the bastard who did it. Have you made any calls to find out what your options are? You don't have to follow through on your claim if you don't think you will benefit from it even if you start to file one.
