Suggestions for routing oil catch can?

I've seen/helped with instillation of oil catch can on a SR20 but never really understood how it is supposed to effectively done on our engines. VG30DE or VG30DETT that is. Anyone got any routing instructions or pics to assist?

Thanks in advance.

Oil catch can? The only reason I can see an engine needing an oil catch is if you've disconnected the PCV system. If you've done that, go smack your head into a wall...Sorry for the contempt, but come on there's reasons for that system to be inplace. If that's not the case what do you need it for?

I'd agree to a point...in stock trim...yup.

But for a higher hp TT'd engine that will see frequent track/autocross days, I would consider installing the system. I feel that I need the system as I plan on having a lot more blowby as the car will be put through the track paces. I agree that the stock pcv system is okay if kept in up with, in maintenance terms. But for a higher hp engine that generates more oil pressure, I feel I need to step it up a bit.

might want to ask the guys in the vegas 350Z section, I remember reading a post about how to make one and where to put it. I understand the motors are different, but the concept should be the same.

i suppose if you just route the hoses from where it would go back into the intake into a catch can, you'd have an effective catchcan, right?

On the other forums, there are write-ups on a pcv relocation that prevents the proverbial oil dump at the track. If you want to run a catch can, I'd still relocate the pickups higher into the valve cover and to the inside of the engine "V".

On my first track day in the z, throughout the day, I dumped over a quart of oil right out the exhaust. It kind of looked like I had a blown turbo the way it was smoking a coupla times.
