Update Report
Hopefully I won't have to be updating you folks on this car since you already know how potent the TT is. But, wow!!! After near 700 miles on this thing, I don't know what tricks I'll have to perform to unglue myself from the driver's seat!!!!! I'm making the shortest trips via the longest, very longest routes just so I can just enjoy the ride. And my wife seems to recognize that grin on my face when I walk in from my 2hr trip to the grocery store just minutes from home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything (except the location of the cigarrtte lighter) seems so balanced, so well thought out. And the sound of the motors as they fire-up is a melody I can't seem to get off my head. This is a really nice car, period!!!
Yesterday I did Mobil-1 for the motor and Redline for the tranny and diff. I ordered those HID's we discussed a while back. That'll be my next upgrade, along with iPod integration using the DIY posts from tt dot net (I got this from Barry: http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg...msg_id=1851834). I have decided to not do the rim upgrade until the summer. It's hard to find the 17inchers that I can afford in the depth and offset that I want.
Now to the cigar lighter thing - it interferes with my radar chord. It's not that bad, but has anyone tried to reposition this thing at a more useful location? And NO, I'm not doing a chordless detector.

my solution, dont speed :P then you dont need a cheater radar. i LOVE the location of it cause its so discrete. it was however VERY annoying when i charged my phone from it cause it was in the way for shifting action. time to go McGyver and solve this one yourself, i never worried about it though. perhaps using a wire up setup instead of the cig plug but then its only good for that car.

Whew... I thought you were smoking in the car... I was about to drive out to you and smack you.
Hardwire the radar detector.
And unless you have a Bel STi Driver, Passport 8500 or 9500 (or Bel RX65, which is the same as the 8500), the Solo S2 (cordless) is most likely superior to what you have. (Notice I left the false-signal giving V1 off that list.)
P.S. You can't increase the rim size without increasing the size of the entire WHEEL.

The radar thing is really no big deal. I don't smoke and I really don't speed, I just drive fast. Even if I did speed, where I drive the cops are always in the same location all the time and sometimes even post speed traps in the local paper....nice!!!!

and I am a believer in the V1. it saved me from getting a 110mph ticket, or i guess that would have been jail..... and those arrows help a LOT, they is what saved me.
