vg30det?
i am a little new to the whole Z32 but i have been trying to learn as much as i can so i am looking to buy a 96 300zx and it has the na motor and i was thinking in doing a swap to the vg30dett and i was looking at this web site (click link) and i found this but the code says vg30det and it says 90 to 95? is this because the engine is OBD1 and the car im looking at is a 96 and is an OBD2? and also the code says vg30deT not TT is that because it is only one turbo or what? thanks alot guys also if there is anything else about this car that you think would be good for me to know let me know thanks again

Welcome to ZDriver!
There's been lots of questions like this recently (search for "VG30DETT SWAP") and the advice the Z32 guys give: If you want a twin turbo 300zx, go buy a 300zx twin turbo". Unless you are dead set on doing a motor swap for kicks, and have tons of money to blow, it's much more realistic to buy the car you want in the first place.
But... it's up to you.

^^^ that's what's up. your N/A has to be pretty special to deserve all the time and money spent doing that swap. there are a lot of parts needed, and you may as well add that money to what you would get selling the n/a and get a complete turbo car and then work on upgrading it.

If you go this route the picture is of the correct motor. The items to take note of is that it says turbo not turbos. It could be simply that they (importer) does not understand our cars or they have the wrong years listed. The 84-89 motor was a VG30DET, but looked nothing like the one in the picture. I would call to confirm things are on the up and up before ordering
Hope this helps
