What can I install before I'm ready to upgrade power
Hey guys, to start off, I know this is a stupid question and I'll probably get a lot of judgement for even asking. I have a 2jz ge VVTi that I am swapping to. I have a decent amount of money on hand and ready to go into upgrades for the engine, but I'm not ready to build a track monster instantly. As I am about to begin the rebuild in a few weeks (depending on eternity long shipping times haha) I was wondering what I need to upgrade now to have in the engine so I don't have to do a 100% rebuild. Ie, I could leave the engine installed and add other upgrades later. My current plan is to 1. Resurface and bore the cylinders (it does need it) 2. Get new pistons and anything else my local shop recommends to match the new compression ratio. 3. Upgrade connecting rods. 4. New headgasket (OEM is supposed to be okay according to YouTubers and forums). Is there anything else you guys can think of? Let me know if I'm being stupid or anything here is incorrect as well!!! I'm new to engine swaps and I know YouTube isn't enough to be an engines expert. Please help and support me rather than belittle me here because I genuinely want to learn as much as possible and I can only learn through experience and the guidance of those more experienced than me. Thanks in advance!!
