02 dump

Ok well my question is....i see alot of eclipse guys and cars with single turbo setups have 02 dumps on their downpipes..why do they have those and is that something that we cant do or wouldn't want to do?

Can you be a bit more descriptive on what you mean?

what's the purpose for it?
i'm trying to figure out what it is you mean.
When you say O2 dump, i'm thinking either oxygen sensor or for some strange reason air being dumped into the exhaust which doesn't make any sense to me.
So if you know what an O2 dump is please explain.
If it helps, tell us what it does for the eclipses.

I looked it up yesterday. Seems a lot of the DSM guys run this "O2 dump" setup. Apparently your O2 sensor housing is ported and a "dump tube"...or a 6-8 inch long pipe is welded on...dumping all wastegate exaust gasses right after the turbo elliminating your exaust.

Elliminate your O2 sensors on your Z and you will have some big problems! I think this is a shitty/poor mans replacement for exaust cutouts! Now the exaust cutouts...they are BADASS! They are welded into your testpipes and you can control them...open or close...from within your car! So with the flip of a switch you could be dumping all exaust directly after your downpipes! But NOT elliminating your O2 sensors!!!
