1990 n/a coil pack smoked
I purchaced a 1990 n/a with a bad motor. I installed a used motor, It appears to be fine. After getting it started, it ran rough .It ran for a few minutes and then the coil pack started to smoke, not sure whats going on. Is that just a bad coil pack or could something else be going on. New to the z32 world . Has anyone had this problem.

I have a set of 6 used if you're interested. I bought some used thinking I had a bad coil pack, or a few bad packs. That wasn't the case. I'd like to keep a couple for spares, but if you want want one, let me know.

Its always wise too keep a few extra coil packs laying around the garage. I would recomend buying 91zxtt's, just to have them around in case something starts going hay wire.
While your tearing in, you might as well go ahead and replace your connections, because that is a plausible reason for smoking too. The connections on Z32's tend to get quite corroded over time, because like someone said, it gets awfully hot under that bonnet.
