300zx exhaust question

I just bought a 2+2 1990 and it has a after market exhaust. I want to take it out and put it in my 94 TT and put the TT stock exhaust on to the 2+2. Will this work out? Thanks

no. 2+2 and 2 seater exhausts are not interchangable.

2nd. Not only is the length different, but the gas tank on the 2+2 sits much lower than the 2+0, and therefore a 2+2 exhaust is formed with that in mind, and would not fit a 2+0.

Aside from that, because of the gas tank, 2+2 exhaust systems are generally VERY restrictive... for your Twin Turbo, get an exhaust that makes more power (which is the only good reason for an aftermarket exhaust), such as Spectialty Z or HKS Hi-Power.

Only problem is that the HKS Hyper DOES NOT bolt up to the 2+2...again the gas tank interfers.

Nothing on the exhaust is interchangable between a TT and 2+2. The midpipes/ test pipes are the wrong length. You will have to order JDM midpipes/ test pipes from Japan. Or see if someone like Z1 makes them for their conversions.

... which is why I recommended it for his TT (he was asking about exhausts to put on his TT... if he could swap the one from his 2+2 over)

Wrong . test/mid pipes are the same length 2+2 or 2 seater here in Japan .

Correct, only difference in Exhaust is the "H" or "X" pipe, the rest of the catback is interchangable (except for maybe the Hypers), Mid/Test/Cat pipes are the same for all N/A cars, 2+2 or 2+0, but different between N/A & TT

So, while nissanracer can't swap his whole exhaust, he can swap from the axel back.
