another electrical problem

hey everyone it's been awhile, well let me explain my situation. The previous owner of my Z32 added 4 side markers and let the stock wiring for the bottom fog lights and blinkers. after awhile the wiring on my switch for the lights got melted together from the extra load, my mechanic friend fixed the melted wires and reinsulated them and also tried to clean up the extra wiring in the front bumper for the stock lights. now it's been a few months since then and now the wiring is starting to heat up again and fused all the wires together and now the headlights are always on, i have to disconnect the battery so the lights wouldn't be on all night. i don't care about the side markers but i was wondering if you guys think it would be better to rewire my system with a new wiring harness?
