Auto VS 5spd
In the aspect of running the 1/4 Mile and 0-60, what would give you quicker times, auto or 5 speed??? I have been told that with the 5 speed you just sit there as your tires speed and the auto you take off like nothing. And 5 speeds are a bitch in traffic...

Re: Auto VS 5spd
If you are an experienced driver 5 speed will be quicker, but on the other hand, that left knee can get real sore with an hour of driving in traffic.
If it is a TT, the 5 speed has a few more horse's so thats another reason the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times will be better.

If you upgrade the torque converter and get a higher stall speed, you'll find that the a/t is pretty good and consistent, but not as fun to drive if you want to do something else besides going straight. Easy way to compare, most of the pro drag cars are a/t, but most circuit and gt cars are m/t. For street cars, I'm sure a 5 spd will beat most a/t since most people don't want to live with a high stall converter and leave their's stock. Personally I'd go with the 5 speed.

Re: Auto VS 5spd
its give or take. my auto is plenty fast. From what I understand the stock auto transmission can handle more horses than the stock manual. so if im correct, and you plan on building it up, then factor in the price of a new clutch. But yeah it sucks to not be able to down shift.
