Belt squeal

Belt squeal

Hey guys everytime i start my car up in the morning it has this horrible squal that lasts for about 20 seconds and goes away..its the drive belt..should i spray belt dressing on it????/

Figure out which one it is and tighten it. Properly tensioned belts don't need belt dressing.

The previous owner told me he changed the power steering pump and the belt that came with it was a bit too loose..so he just never got around to changing it

????????

there's about ~4 inches of adjustment on the alternator it looks like. that belt would have to be WAY too big. check it out though. if it's at max big adjustment, and the belt is still loose, then order a new one.

Each component on the Z32 is EASILY adjusted by simply tightening/loosening a bolt, and as KasbeKZ said, there is lots of adjustability.

I have put several belts on mine without resolve. I continue to tighten the belts. Mine is an 88 z. Nissan designed the alternator belt to small therefore can not support the startup load. mine does the same thing untill it warms for about 30 sec. I believe its just something you will live with
