Better fuel mileage???

Okay, maybe I'm just stupid - but I really did not expect an increase in fuel mileage with the split Z1 downpipes I had installed. I just checked my mileage for my usual driving (mixed city/freeway) and my mileage has improved from 15.9 MPG to 17.5 MPG. I'm stunned...

you are probably

1. still getting used to the car
2. using different gas
3. using a/c less

That's no surprise. The Z is capable of decent mileage. For reference, I did a road trip last month and got over 25 mpg in my n/a. After posting up my mileage, a guy with a TT posted up that he did a road trip and got over 27 mpg.

1. Perhaps... I'll keep an open mind
2. I used either Chevron or Shell 93 octane
3. Not a chance, I'm in Atlanta dude - it's freakin HOT here

I'm not complaining of course, but I really expected the gas mileage to be worse, this was my first tank after the pipes were installed and I've been "experimenting".

just like any car, if you don't have a heavy foot then your mileage will be respectable.

That's exactly what I'm getting.

Old job - 99% freeway driving there and back = 320 miles to the tank.

Current job which is about a 50/50 split between freeway and in-town = 275 or so.

I'm hoping my tune up this next week bumps it up a little. 140,000 miles, WOOO!!

Slamming the gas I get about 18.5 MPG, and that's highway( 100= sometimes ) and city. But I got 25 MPG combined once. When I never rev'd passed 3000RPM...

If I complain about the gas mileage my Z gets and my mom is around, she says the same thing every time. She actually says this whenever I say anything about my car being pricey, maintenance and what not.

"you wanted that damn car"

Shes a real comedian.

I guess thats better then what my girlfriend used to say.

"you like your car more then you like me"

Im not going to deny that statement to her face.
