Boost guage install

Boost guage install
So I bought used a boost guage and normally they come with 6 feet of tubing... however, this was all I got (what a dick right)...
So I was thinking about replacing the hard plastic tubing anyways with some silicone tubing (since i have about 40 feet anyways) but I there's a small metal piece that holds the tubing in after you screw the cap on that I can't seem to get it off, then of course I have no clue how I would get it back on the new hose anyways.
Also, I can't really find vacuum line that small anyways, the only piece that small I have is in my 3 way connector (that will run to my EBC). This piece is almost small enough, but once again, no clue how I would get the metal back on, and i do need slightly smaller, this is 2.5 and I think I need something like 2 anyways, which i can't find (hose techniques doesn't have it anyways).
Through my searches I did find this solution, but i'd rather not do this....
I know a new in the box autometer boost guage comes with 6 feet of tubing, however I can't find any place to buy just the tubing. I would settle for using that tubing to a coupler then vacuum line into my 3 way connector (still need to find more of this small vacuum line though) (the stock tubing is to small to fit into my 3 way), however i'd like to minimize the couplers if possible, but if i have to settle for that I will.
any ideas?

this was the solution i came up with... went to ace hardware...
got this adapter that fit on the boost guage with a barb hose fitting.
then I got this T...
only thing is that it's kinda big. but it's metal which won't allow opportunities for failure like plastic and will run 4mm silicone vacuum line for it.

It was meant ironically (for those in the Z32 forums who know my reputation)... you're talking to someone who has a degree in mathematics and lots of background in computer science. But I don't do RPG's... no time for that when I'm researching Stochastic processes or Modern Analysis, etc.
