Bose amplifier rewire

So two of the amplifiers on the factory Bose system are shot. The car already has an aftermarket Alpine head unit in it that is fine. Has anybody just taken the amps out, and wired the speakers around the amps? Seems like a simple solution, but I've met trouble with some other great ideas I've had in the past...

Just run new wires from the hu to the speakers.

Or, just cut the signal wires at the amplifiers and wire the speakers to those (basically, bypass the amplifiers). That's what I always did. (Don't ask which ones are the signal wires... get a multimeter and figure it out, because I don't remember.)

Thanks for your input. Zlover - that's exactly what I was wondering. Seems like it would be easier than running all new wire. Thanks

yes, maintain as much of the stock harness as you can... saves trouble later on if you want to install a new head unit or anything really just get an adapter and plug it into the stock harness.
