brake lights

If your third brake light works and all your other lights work too, what's the problem?
I get the impression you're attempting to say that your third brake light works but the tails do not... in which case REPLACE THE BULBS. They're not eternal. Filaments go bad.

It's strange, but it's not impossible. All 4 bulbs are used at the same time, so they wear out at the exact same rate. Normally, there is a deviation between lifespans due to deviation in the manufacturing process, but they do tend to wear out around the same time.
What's the worst that can happen if you replace them? It doesn't solve your problem and you spend $5? OMG... just do it and get back to us. I, for one, am not willing to diagnose any electrical problems until we are sure that the simple explanation is not the solution. So either get new bulbs, or test voltage and current at the bulb sockets and let us know the results.

Thank you. Sorry my suggestion was incorrect, but at least we're sure it's not that simple. What electrical changes have you made to the car recently? And did you check ALL fuses? If so, I'd check the relays under the hood. Find the one corresponding to the brake lights and swap it with another similar relay.
