I need help figuring out weather a used crankshaft is worth buying? what are the possible things I should do if I buy one and the possible cons if I use one?

 

As long as the engine it came out of didn't explode or slip a bearing, it should be fine. Check the bearing journals... they should look and feel as smooth as a mirror. Also check the counter weights for signs of metal-to-metal hitting.
