Cats

I am getting new cats. I have already ordered the Labree catback with x-pipes and resonators. I found these:Cats
They are the ones for the 2+2 for $210 a side.
Does anyone have these or know if these are good and are direct fit?

How about these do they have the ports for the AIV system?

are you wanting to get high flow cats or stock cats?

you should delete your AIV systems
its fairly quick and fairly easy

You don't need the AIV's if you're getting new cats. The AIV's are to help the old style cats burn the unburned fuel in the system.

So do I "have" to upgrade the ECU (ie. Ashspec), to compensate for no AIVs. Thats what I have been reading, but noone has said whether you really need to or not. Whats the down fall for not and whats the ups for doing? Thanks

you do not need to upgrade the ecu...i had the same question

i took them out in like 20 minutes...the pump and airbox, and then plugged the hose with a tee.
you save like 15 lbs, and if you go with no cats or cat pipes with no aiv hole, you will get an annoying sound around 2000 rpms when the aivs kick in

no downfalls that i know of if you get new cats/test pipes

The AIV is a smog pump. It pumps air into the cats to make it easier for the cats to burn the unburned fuel. More air = more fire. You do not need to upgrade the ecu to remove the AIV's.

Anyone ask if his state requires emissions testing?
If it does than what you are suggesting is illegal.

I was told that the AIVs only work at idle and on cold start ups. So I dont think the 2000rpm thing is the AIVs making sounds. But what do I know

But anyways, I am getting the ECU upgrade also, I think it is a nice mod and I might as well to eliminate the possibility of running with the engine light on. The catback and cats are being shipped out tommorrow . So tommorrow night I am pulling the ECU and sending it to Ash on Saturday or Monday (depends when the shipping store is open ) . And this weekend I am removing the AIVs. So, thanks for all the helps
