cheap or free horspower mods

i was wondering if anybody knows of cheap or free horsepower freeing mods im kinda limited on cash but just want some more power i used to have an eclipse that u cut the air filter box top off and it freed up extra horsepower and then the maf sensor you could remove two of the honeycombs and it freed up more i was just wondering if there was anything like that for the z im pretty new to working on z so the simplier the better cause these cars are a pain in the butt to work on .

cheap and free...no such thing.
If you want a cheap fast car. I'm sorry to tell you but you bought the wrong car.
The Z is a cash hog and is very very expensive to mod, not to mention maintain. Just look at 91zxtt's mod thread, perfect example.
Sounds to me like you first need to get the car running well before you can even consider mods. I think you should start there.

You could remove the stock air box and install a cone filter for greater air flow. Not free, but relatively inexpensive.
The only thing you could do for free would be to reduce weight.

I do agree with Rizz...make sure the car is running perfectly well before anything else. Even an N/A running like it should is not slow and a blast to drive.

thanks for the help the car is a tt. i mean the cars not slow by all means its just the fact i rode in a stock twin turbo rx7 and it just through me through the back of the seat if i had to guess id say my twin turbos might only be useing one turbo if thats possible it just doesnt have the pull of other twin turbos ive rode in or drove. i never drove a 300z before i bought this car so it may just be the way this car is. as far as i know the car is running well it doesnt leak or smoke or anything like that. just burns off tires but whos doesnt?i just installed a k@n cone air filter in it is that good enough?

Doesn't matter to us what you put in it.

The RX7 is lighter, but the TT should throw you back in in your seat very well if it running properly and boosting as it should be. If it doesn't feel like other TTs you've been in (assuming they were not modded). I would take a look at the online FSM and start getting to know the engine and ensure everything is in good order. A number of things could affect power if in fact is off.
First thing check your timing, if the timing belt hasn't been replaced at 60K / 120K, go that.

There's got to be something wrong with your Z. The 7 is fast, but the Z32 is just as fast. Based on 0-60 times I found from a quick google search, they both do it in 5.0 seconds. Exactly the same.
