instead of asking us non-professional mechanics, why not ask the professional mechanics. I'm pretty sure it's not that difficult to call a few shops for estimates. Buy the clutch then shop around for labor costs.

badboy

how does this sound,$400.00 for the installation of the timing belt and the clutch, yeah its a friend of my who works only on race cars and specialized in turbo cars,to be honest it really takes like 3 to 4 hours the most to install the clutch and if you go to any place where they would charge you by the hour a range from $65.00 to $80.00.remember they have to take out the exhausts, dismount the tranny from the shifter area, you know there is alot involved, the shop is in kissimmeeits off osceola park way in front of the wal-mart its called tono turbo,if interested give me a call and ill meet you there whenever you want, right now his working on my rx7 so im always there, you only need the clutch installed so we are looking on a price of $200.00 to $250.00 the most, but more likely $200.00 if i tell them you are a friend,im only trying to save you money.later will,407 301 0769

Another great example of why I love owning a Z!!

That is a great person. I'm proud to have Nitrousmailman as part of our Z community. Even if does own a mazda. LOL
Seriously, this is one of the great things that I love about this forum. Especially compared to some other Z forums out there, this community is much, much, much more likely to extend a helping hand and good advice than to flame, insult, put down, and generally just hate than others that I've experienced. Another great reason why I love this forum.

In my experience, those are the best kind. Shadetree mechanics are the best because they're always willing to learn. They aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty. Finally, they aren't afraid to admit they made a mistake (usually).

Most professional mechanics that I've run into seem to feel superior in their diagnoses and work. Maybe it's just me, but these guys seem to think that they're never wrong. They think that they are beyond mistakes just because they work at a dealership. I'm glad that they're making a living working on cars and everything but, that doesn't make them infallible.

I'm glad to say that I don't know everything. I'm glad to say 'show me the right way.' I can't wait to start working on a TT. That's the one type of car that I know I still could use a lot of information on. Turbos are great impressive pieces of machinery. Almost magical in their design and function. I have a great deal to learn and am looking forward to it.

yup

you got that right rizz im willing to learn anything when it comes to a piece of machinery like a z32tt,i really like to work on a car,but honestly i just dont have the pacience,so i go with the easy stuff, but dont get me wrong,if i have to bring down a transmission,or a engine i will do it,but also if i have the money to pay someone else to do it,why not ill just keep working for the government delivering mail, and live the dirty job to someone else,by the way ive talked to badboy on my cell the other day, sounds like a cool guy,i know he was having problems with the new clutch installed,my opinion is that the peolpe at the nissan dealer did a lousy job,is there a reason why a 2 weeks old clutch will go bad so soon, well probably badboy isnt telling us the TRUTH,he probably thinks(WE CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH) or maybe he is has a heavy foot later guys
