Code question / Intake question.
So i finished dropping the second motor in this summer and it sounds good, feels good, seems to running pretty good as well. Took it out on the road its pretty good. After I update the injectors and just run the motor for a while im sure itll be doing really well.
Only issue that may not be an issue is that after I took it out for a bit I ran the codes. First time i ran the puter I got 34 (knock sensor). So I ran it again, 55. Turned off the puter, ran it again, 55. Did it again, 55.
Could have just been a fluke?
I THINK that the harness is a little busted up on the sensor too, the metal is fine but the plastic has a piece missing from it. Its still covered up and holds securely but maybe thats making it all screwy.
For the intake, im sure most of us have removed the stock air box and replaced it with some sort of intake set up. Has anyone taken the hard plastic out of the upper right and left sides of the bumper?
I was thinking about pulling them off and just clamping a small metal grill like pieces to the hoses. Theres nothing blocking the hard plastic from letting anything in since theyre pretty open and large so I dont think it would be an issue.
Let me know your thoughts on everything, thanks.

If your intake is open I highly recommend putting an aftermarket intake on. The jackass who had the car before me removed the lower part of the intake but left the stock air box in. I went through two MAF sensors this summer and then (lucky catch) discovered water can pool in the bottom of the box (splash shield is gone too). It was soaking into the air filters and probably corroded the air sensor. If you remove the box completely you'll be fine.
