I don't know. I'll let you know if it breaks. It looks pretty damn sturdy. It's about 3.5"-4" in diameter and I believe it's solid (not hollow). It would take a lot to snap a solid 4" piece of aluminum.

I doubt that the aluminum drive line is solid. If it were a solid 3-1/2" diameter and somewhere around 48" long, it would weigh 44lbs. I don't think a stock 2 pc drive line weighs that much. It's proably closer to being something like sch-80 pipe. But not solid. When I tap on mine, it sounds hollow.

I have a heavy heavy foot. Me and the guys I roll with down here have the fastest cars around. So were always racing people, or eachother.

Do they actually have horsepower ratings on the aftermarket driveshafts? I mean whether it's steel or aluminum the weak point isn't the tube that connects the u-joints together, it's the u-joints themselves that are the weak links. Besides, the ability of a cars tire to maintain traction goes away long long before you get near the torsional limits of a round tube. Meaning, I'd go with the aluminum and save some weight.
