Drivetrain vibration?
This is a weird one. I has a 91 tt 5sp, it has recently started to vibrate and run rough at highway speed (63 mph +). But it only does it in fifth gear. If your downshift to fourth at the same speed it smoothes out. Anyone had this issue?
Thanks

Re: Drivetrain vibration?
hi guy,i am new to this forum,i had a 91 auto 2+2,my car seen to run very rough and the car shift at about 4k rpm under normal accel,it would shift earlier if i let go the gas paddle at any rpm,i had a transmission guy look at and he said this car's shift is control by the tps or something,he said he had to hook it up to his scanner to see what the problem was,i also had the dealer look at it and they said could be the drive shaft out of balance, and would cost $650 to change, then i had a local guy put it on the lift and he do not see any vibration to the shaft, everyone tell a diferent story, who do i believe?anyone has an auto with or have hear similer problem pls feel to post here, any help is appreciated, thanx! )

Re: Drivetrain vibration?
Well it is a new forum. New site. www.twinturbo.net has tons of tech info but they are having server problems right now. Check it out anyway tho. I have 195,000 miles. Yes bad coil packs can cause problems. Courtesy Nissan sells them new for less than $50 and zxparts@mindspring.com sells new and used parts. Check your plugs and might try cleaning your tps too.
