Ok here is my problem ... ???

I want to have the body of a 300zx and the Power Plant of a Skyline ... ???

I am Curently in the process of buying an RB26DETT ... it is the full engine ... untill recently i was too cought up with getting a good engine and not all the parts that are needed ... !!!

Now I found the Engine it will cost me
$ 3,800 US
(Near mint condition)
(Not a single oil leak and so on ... )
(Includes the Transmission)

Ok ... I have a 1992 300zx ... If i was to rip out the VG30DE and have a RB26DETT installed would i need to use the computer of a Skyline or use the 300zx one ...

SKYLINE ENGINE = SKYLINE COMPUTER

SKYLINE ... Digital Display ...
300ZX ... Not Digital Display ... ???

As well as ... would i be able to get the AWD power of the Skyline in the 300Z ... ???

i know i know mst of you are thinking ... if you want that then just go get a Skyline ... ... not that i would mind .... but when i go to the car next car show ... i want me a specific TROPHY ... !!!

where did you find this skyline engine. I want a skyline engine to put in my nissan

 

Well the engine and all i am getting threw a contact in Japan that is a relative of my curent girlfriend ... i informed him 2 weeks ago to get find one in the best posible condition available ... well it turned out he found one that was from a R33 that was unfortunate loss to grand theft ... not all that bad for the owner, the insurance let him keep the car as well as pay for a replacement ... for me for him ... !!! OK now all i need to do is have it imported here to California docs ... !!!

To get one all you need to do is have a connection to anyone in Japan or an area where the car is available ... get one from japan that is where it will cost you the least ... 411 ask for japan directories and look for junk yards, or a nissan dealer that carries the car or engine ... ask for RB26DETT ... ask for delivery method ... or make a visit to Japan to look and inspect it ... !!!

 

you need to do custom work to the engine bay right? or does it mount into the stock motor mounts
?

 

You will need the computer from the skyline and the wiring harness. plus everything will have to be custom made. Seeing how the engine is longer and will not fit on the stock mounts. As for the 4WD I don't think the tranfer case will fit under the car but you can try it. Plus you forgot all the labor and customizing cost which could be about 10,000 and up. There are a couple of Z's in Japan that have had the swap done. I just hope you have the money to go in this car and I hope you can wait a long time for it.
