Indeed... just ramp it up w/ 2x4's. Or jack up the car, and put the car ramps under the tires.

I have mainly run Castrol 20W-50 in my 91 NA for the past 10 years and 200K+ miles with no engine problems. I also have used NAPA Gold (brother owns a NAPA) and FRAM filters over those 10 years. The car has seen road course days with 10 minute hot laps and that many miles also. It is hard for me to believe some of the stuff people have posted from my experience.

I have had other vehicles that I have put well over 100K miles on with no major engine problems also. I believe as long as you use a quality oil and change every 3K miles is the best thing you can do.

Is it still recommended to change the oil every 3000 miles with a full synthetic oil? Because with my previous car i changed it about every 6000 miles and hadn't had any problems.

3000 is a bit overkill nowadays, but i usually stick to that rule anyways. changing oil does not cost that much, rebuilds do. that, and i have not hopped on the synthetic bandwagon yet.

Synthetic will definately last longer than 3k. When in doubt... pull the dipstick & look at the oil.

Okay, one more question. My Z seems to be losing oil. I don't think its burning it off, but it may cuz it was sitting a while. My friend says that its prolly just the gaskets are a little dried up. We've put in 14 oz. of engine honey and as then we are going to put in castrol high mileage to get it up to the proper fluid level. The problem is the guy I bought the car from didn't have the owners manual but did have service manual.

So my question is what is the number of quarts the 300ZX NA engine takes with an oil filter replacement? Just for my knowledge next time I change my oil.

Exactly. I use synth oil now just because I'm 140,500 now and I don't feel like replacing the seals just yet. I pull the dipstick and check to see what the color is, honey = good to go, darker = change it. Depending on how far and how hard I drive I can go an easy 7500 miles before having to change it while using a Mobile 1 filter.

So is my friend right about the leaking seals? He took the rag that we used to clean the dipstick and smelled a bit of gas in the oil. Is that saying that the saying the gaskets are dried up right now and need a bit of time to reseal?

Does anybody have any advice on where to take a Nissan Z32 in the Traverse City, MI area?

I'm thinking that my valve seals and gaskets replaced on my NA engine, and I want to take somewhere that will take care of it.

Ouch for going to a dealership though... big bucks!!! But I may have no other choice

And yes its 3 5/8 with a new filter, but the issue is she is burning oil on start-up and take-off.

Not to hijack but I keep hearing referance to "engine honey". What is this, what does it do, is it something to invest in as a precautionary step for high miliage engine care?

I'm ashamed to say I fell for the Slick 50 hype, I don't recommend it.....didn't seem to do anything but make my car smell funny for a month until all that **** burned out of the block.
