Fuel leak
On my way out this morning, I noticed a faint gas smell. I figured it might be the POS pickup next to me at a light, but the smell seemed to stick around in the cabin long afterwards.
I ran the engine and looked around under the hood, but I couldn't find anything obvious. I've already replaced the pressure regulator, damper, filter, and all the hoses adjacent to all those parts. I had three fuel line leaks in the span of about three weeks during the winter, but now that it's warm again, I figured I was clear of fuel line leaks. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there another part of the fuel line that commonly fails that I haven't already replaced?

in my experience, this is the culprit:
-if gas cap is changed, this might cause smell. (breathable and non-breathable gas cap can make a world of difference, it can even cause the fuel cell to implode!)
-fuel line is cut
-fuel filter is cloged
-fuel pump is out
-sock is cloged
-an ECU/ECM malfunction
-or you could just be leaking gas out of the cell.
~you should get your local mechanic to check it out.

about fuel leak
i had the same problem, mainly on cold mornings on start up and then a little bit after the problem is the hoses tend to looses and drip fuel onto your plenuem, ya real good i know, check all the brakcets and hoses clamps along the fuel lines there the ones running from the filter on the driver side acrosse the engine poke your nose around in there and with a philips tighten the clamps problem solved, unless its more serious like a injector problem, but this is common among z apparently with the fuel smell hope this helped
