Help with mods & maintenance!
I have a 93 Z32 NA 2+2 Stock Automatic, Saphire Blue w/ 65k miles on it. What are the rcommended maintenance that should be done at this point? I just had the engine oil flushed and washed, and oil changed with Mobil 1 Syn. Fuel Filter Changed.
I am thinking of having the tranny worked on by Level Ten, Should I let them change the whole thing including the torque converter, their Hydroystem valve work for transmission cooling. They say the tranmissiom will be able to handle about 450HP. Also, they have the option to add a Shiftronic device to electronically shift the tranny to any gear. Any suggestions?? Also, I am in the process of performing a few mods on it and need advice on these. JWT Intake, ECU, Greddy SP Exhaust, Underdrive pulley, and Stillen headers. I have a techtom MDM-100 display I want to put in. Plus the HKS ALC. Should I put in a APEXi S-AFC II?? I have also heard about putting in boost jets?? What about a lightened flywheel by JUN? I want to install Brembo Brakes, calipers. Tokico Adj, Shocks, Eibach Springs, Sway Bars, Strut braces, HKS Twin Ignition Unit.
Also any good shops that can do all this work around the tri-boro area in NYC?
I also want to paint over the car using Dupon't Chromalusion paint, to give it that nice color shifting look. Any suggestions.
or pointer as to how to start going about it are welcomed. Thanks.

Re: Help with mods & maintenance!
Wow,
Okay lots to think about first lets get the maintenance taken care of.
- 60k maintenance which includes timing belt, take this to a nissan dealer and have it done, also when you have it done order your underdrive pulley and put it on when they are doing the 60k.. It'll save you some labor money.
As for the mods you are on the right track, and for the shops in the area I think speedlab is pretty close and does some good work.
For your mods here's some ideas:
Intake - JWT/APEXi/HKS, doesn't really matter but the APEXi was found to be the best all around filter.
Exhaust - Greddy SP, you'll lose low end torque as the exhaust doesn't have any backpressure, I would suggest the HKS Dual Tip which still retains back pressure for the NA.
Underdrive Pulley - yes, do it with your 60k maintenance
Driveshaft - aluminum one will gain you 3-5 hp.
ECU - some say it's not worth the money but hey sounds like money isn't much of an issue.
Headers - another one that people say isn't worth the money unless you are planning on using the bottle..
HKS ALC - yep, prepare for shifts you can *FEEL*
AFC - doubt you'll need one for the NA.
As for boost jets they are for twin turbo's, also make sure to do the suspension mods as you'll need it in the turns to make up for lack of hp that you'll find in other cars.
That's about it right now, I'll reply later tonight with some more stuff for you.

Re: Help with mods & maintenance!
Thanks for the info John, You seem to be the man to talk to about all this. What can you tell me about my other questions.
I am getting the underdrive crank pulley, I'll go with the APEXi Intake as you suggested. As far as the exhaust I am a bit troubled. The Greddy Sp has been highly suggested. I like the sound on it. Hows the HKS? I am changing the torque converter for a Level Ten one, Maybe the whole trannny by them, but at least the converter. I am getting HKS ALC. As far as the drive shaft, they have suggested aluminum or carbon fiber, what do you suggest?
What do you think about suspension? How should I go about it? They have suggested to get Eibach springs, tokico illumina 5way adj schocks or ground control coilovers?
In the brake department, I am leaning towards a complete brembo kit with steel lines. What are your suggestions??
Thanks for all your help. I look forward to reading your advice.

Welp the one thing about the Greddy SP is that it's loud, but I also don't like the cannon shooter look of the Greddy SP.
I went with the HKS Turbo for my car, but you'll have to go with the D2 verison, as it's dual tip also which gives it a little more than stock look. Which I personally like the dual tip stock look.
As for the lightened flywheei, I'm not sure what that would be like with the new torque convertor, ask Level 10 about that, they are *VERY* good and should be able to answer all your questions on that. Also make sure if you go with the light flywheel you get the Chromoly one, as the aluminum one won't last long as long and doesn't lose that much more weight.
As for the suspension stuff, go with the coilovers, they weren't available and I ended up with Eibach springs, and 8 way adjustable KYB's. The setup is a little stiff and I miss being able to electronically control those.
As for the driveshaft the alum should do fine unless you've got money to burn then go for the carbon fiber.
I will warn you though, the NA Z is a nice car, but also remember that no matter how much money you stick in the NA Z, you'll still be around the performance of a Stock Z, unless you start playing with NOS.
The StageIII Twin Turbo Z will make you feel bad, don't ever ride in one
Good luck, show us some pictures of that thing when you get her finished all up, it'll be nice... If you look at the webmasters pick of the month Seedy's got one hella of a nice NA
