How to find the right Z?
I come from the neons.org boards, and am trying to help my mother's husband find his dream car--a naturally aspirated Z32. What should I look for in a good, used Z? Should certain years and/or transmissions be avoided? Any problem area's--like Neon headgaskets?
This would not be a project car, just a weekend mobile that he rubs with a diaper and cruises with. Are there any dealers that are recommended for dealing with parts-wise? For example, there is a dealer in Detroit who sells all Neon parts at cost. Anything like that here?
Also, is there a FAQ that I can read? I'd prefer not to ask newbie questions. Thanks.

well 1st of all....why dont u start to like the z32 yourself? personally i think its a MUCH better car than the dodge neon, lol. i mean its ok to own a neon, but i think slow 4-banger cars with rice pipes should stay stock and not hurt everyones eyes/ears.hopefully you will see how great the z32 really is, and become a fan yourself. out with the neons!!!

A neon is a neon and a Z is a Z. apples and oranges. At least you like cars. www.twinturbo.net has all the general stuff you could ever want to know. If you have a specific question, im sure we can help.

Re: How to find the right Z?
I never said I didn't like the Z32. And I have much respect for the TT cars and think the lines are absolutely classic. What I don't like are brand/car *****. I did not ask what you thought about my car, I was just giving you my background. A Neon is what it is. It isn't built to compete with a Nissan Z (though it can be). Len Ayala's 9-second daily driver comes to mind. My car is not rice. It still sports a stock exhaust system. When it comes time to install a performance system, I'll cap it off with a 24" Camaro muffler so that I don't hurt your delicate ears. The cars have a special something about them. Just do a Google search for "The Tao of Neons". Your attitude makes me think you should be driving a Mustang.
Now that I have sunk to your level, I'll rise back up and thank Jon for a point in the right direction. THANK YOU, JON!
