the hydrolic valve lifters make a tap noise which is high in pitch when compared to a lower pitch knock of a rod.

Jack the car up and if the sound is louder under the engine..then its your rod.

if its the hydrolic valve lifters, its nothing to worry about there is a spring behind the cam gears and if the spring isnt installed correctly or if its just missing it will knock or click.

valve tap is very common on Z's. sometimes, switching to a thicker oil has helped it go away.

if you're asking for parts, check with courtesy or at ocncept Z performance. I believe Rizz's link page can help you out as well. As far as how to do it.....here...

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the you do not possess a thorough understanding of how an internal combustion engine works. I'm alos going to bet that you don't really know the side-effects of installing a timing belt incorrectly. If my assumptions are correct, then just have the dealership do it. If the timing belt is actually hitting the inside of the ttiming cover, then I suggest you have this done immediately. Replacing the timing belt is a 4 hour job. $600 isn't bad for having the dealership, if they do it right and replace the belt, tensioner, pulleys, cam seals, main seal and VTC springs.

Not to mention if there's further problems, you can take it back to them and have them fix it cuz they screwed it up.
and calm down, no need for you or the timing belt to snap. Just take care of it.

Learning from your mistakes is another good thing. I have a feeling that if you tried to change the timing belt on your own that it would be a good mistake to learn from. Just let the dealership do it.
