Key code locations

Key code locations
I recently bought a new Master key blank and tried to get the key code for it. Nissan said that the car is too old and that the records aren't in the system anymore. The originating dealer is no longer existing so I'm SOL there. I've tried looking on the inside of the door jam, the glove box, the engine bay and under the ash try (why it would be there I have no idea ). If anyone would know where else I should look other than ripping my door locks out and getting it that way I'd greatly appreciate it.
The car is a '93 300ZX convertible VIN JN1RZ27H9PX001379. Thanks guys

The key code is not located anywhere else on the car. You'll need to remove a lock to get it.
If Ultimate Z were still reputable, I'd tell you to send them a pic of your key... Chris can eyeball a key and get your key cut exactly (kinda scary, when you think about it). But it'd take you a year to get your key with how they've been lately.

Alright, thanks for the info. How many digits is the key code, so I know what to look for. Also why don't you say Ultimate Z is reputable anymore, just curious?
My next question is how difficult is it to take out the lock? What parts of it have the key code. I want to make this as easy as possible.
Thanks again everyone

It's been a while since I looked at my key code (I actually lost mine when I took it out of the glovebox), but I think it's a letter (mine was an X) and either 3 or 4 numbers (I want to say 4).
As for removing the locks, I've never done it, but a friend of mine says it's not all that difficult. Remove the door panel, remove the plastic cover, and you should be able to get to it with minor maneuvering.

Also, I realized I didn't answer your question concerning Ultimate Z. They have historically taken long periods of time to get any work done, they do not communicate with their customers, and recently there have been a few horror stories of them doing shady work (huge builds who paid for certain parts and received cheaper alternatives, things like that). If you want the details, search twinturbo.net and chicagoz.com. Since I'm a former employee who hasn't had a real bad experience with them, I don't want to kill their reputation on my own... but I'm certainly not going to mislead anybody. The bottom line is simple... it took me 8 months to get my key back from them (Chris had the info, it just took him that long to finally call up Nissan and get the key cut), and expecting them to do any work takes at least that long, no matter how much work it is.

Quit tempting me. The Z's got a lot of bugs to work out, so it's truly temping right now (front brakes need replacement - VR4 or Z33 rotors coming soon, the passenger's tail light is cracked thanks to a rotting spoiler causing the metal trim to misalign and smash into it, so both the spoiler and tail light need replacement, and I still have to do the rear main seal, subframe bushings, and all the other body touchups). I'll tell you what... if the Z isn't where I want it to be by the middle of summer and it's not looking like I can get it to where I want it to be, we'll negotiate seriously.
