Re: LAUNCHING MY Z
whast up man,
im not the best person out there to tell you how to do this but what i do is i hold the idle at about 2000 - 3000 rpms then when im ready instead of lifting your foot UP off the clutch let your foot slide to the left and let the clutch pop out you get a good take off with out the tires spinning but if you want to burn rubber then hold the rmps at about 4500-5000 rpms and do the same with the clutch other than that its all what up to you just get a feel for the car and learn to respect it and it will respect you have fun man and try to stay on the line of leagal at least.
agi
p.s. try not to ride the clutch on the take off.

Re: LAUNCHING MY Z
My 87 turbo takes off well. I think all ZX's do since they have a heavier body weight and they are rear wheel drive. Get a feel for the clutch. I bought mine not knowing how to even drive a standard, but I learned very quickly. After a few months, you will be able to know how much to rev it up so you may just barely spin your tires, but gives you a great take off.

Re: LAUNCHING MY Z
Spinning tires on a 90-96 Z usually results in a lot of wheel hop. It's a very tough car to launch due to it's short wheelbase (car doesn't squat). To counteract the wheel hop, you need to get new aluminum or polyurethane subframe bushings or get subframe spacers from Greg Dupree for $80.
