looking for good info on NEW PROJECT ???
Ok so i own a 90 300zx NA and 93 240sx and i just ordered the TT front clip so i can do the swap. Should take me another month to get it all done. So I will have my tt z very soon, and i will still have my VG30DE engine and tranny lying around so i was wondering if anyone has ever put an NA VG in a 240. If there's anyone that can give me any info it would be appreciated. I just thought that if it could be done then my NA 240 would be sweet. I've done a lot of mods to my NA motor; intake, headers, exhaut, cams, ecu, clutch and aluminum flywheel, and aluminum driveshaft but that wont match up with the 240 pretty sure it's too long. Anyways i figure my na has about 240+ HP ,if you can believe that, it seems to me that if the swap could be done then my 240 would shmob with the VG in it seeing that the 240 weighs about 1000 pounds less then my Z. I know it's a big heavy iron block to put in a 240 and i know most of you would say "put a RB or SR in it"...but i dont wanna do that cuz ill have the tt z i need something that i can smash that is reliable just in case something does happen to the z. Anyways any information of opinions would be appreciated.

Yea i figured it would be a tight fit. But with modifications to the engine bay like maybe wheel well clarance and engine mount adjustments (same with the tranny mounts) and a custom driveshaft... Do you think it's a good idea. I love my NA it's fun to drive with all the mods I've done and my idea seems like it would be well worth it. My 240 is a beater ive already gutted the interior trying to make it as light as possible to make up for the heavy VG. Let me know if you guys have heard of anything like this. As for video of my Z Im too broke to afford a video camera but the cams are a great upgrade if your willing to spend over 800 bucks without install. Honestly you can't expect more than 7 hp but your engine response is awesome it revs super quick and definitely sounds buff. I wouldnt get the cams until you have everything else to go along with them as far as your exhaust goes, and i also messed up and got my ECU tuned before i got the cams. I would save the ecu for last. But you probably know that, what have you done to your NA?????

the n/a had mostly bolt ons, but im thinking if i buy a new z this summer, i might pick up a set of TT heads, rebuild them and put 400 cams in them. i need to see how well that would work first, if at all.

To answer your questions about swaping the VG in the S13.
Possible: Yes
Done before: Yes
FUn to drive: HELL YEAH!
basically the engine is far from a bolt ona s we all know. you have to modify the oil pan, the oil pick up. OR the Cross member. since your car is N/A it is going to be easier as all you'l need is custom headers to clear the steering column. Stick the N/A Z32 fuel pump on the S13 and get a TT fuel pump for the Z32. wiring is not as bad as everyone makes it seem I can help you with that. the other thing is the shifterlinkage has to be modified for ovious reasons but it should not be all that bad either. the only thing I have to say is Get a good Welder. die grinder. and a bench vice. and you can do anything. just take your time. I know from experience. ive done several TT swaps. and quite a few RB swaps. countless SR and CA18's now I wanna sell my car to get a Z32. so if you have any questions don;t be afraid to ask I'll do as much as I can to help.
