Motor swap
Probally not in the right section but was wondering if anyone seen 300zx without a VG motor. i looked around and ppl have put diff motors in our style car. Some ppl have done skyline motors. Has anyone actually seen somthing like this?

Yes. And it's always retarded. RB26 is a smaller engine and the swap costs generally upwards of $20k to do it right. LS1/LT1 will cost far too much as well, and the dollar/power ratio is dominated by the VG30DETT (also ignoring that it's blasphemy to put a domestic engine in an import). etc.
When TwinTurbo.NET's bookmarks are back online, I'll post quotes from a guy who's just finishing his RB26 swap... quotes like "if I could do it all over again, I'd stay with the VG30DETT."

why do you want to talk to someone that's seen it? there are not a whole ton of them around. there's a guy on tt.net right now who is finishing up his swap and is pretty much regretting starting it. you could find it pretty quick on there if you searched it. it's only a couple weeks back.

Then the point of this post was what? Just to say "hey, did you know that other engines fit in the Z32 chassis?"
Newsflash, we've been around for years... we've probably seen much more of what can be and has been done to the Z32.

you'll end up in the turbo swap for less money if you just sell your n/a and buy a tt.
the tt will be worth maybe 25% more than the n/a in the same condition, but in order to do a good turbo swap, you'll be in for between 100% and 250% of the value of your n/a by the time it's finished.

I'm looking for a place to swap my motor from my 93 convertible to a tt. Motor was fine although was having injector problems. I pulled it and the trans. But rather buy the new motor, send it out and have it done right. Realize new motor trans and harness about 6500. partly why rather keep spending to make sure its done correctly. grew up with the car and want to get it back on the road for me and my quickly growing kids to enjoy. In NJ.
