New 300zx NA Owner
Hello my Z friends,
I am new here, so I guess I am what they call a noob, not really sure.
Anyway, I just purchased a 1990 300zx NA - I have purchased a front clip JDM engine swap TT, fully stock, except the intercoollers which are greddy. I have no budject, I know Z's require allot of maintenance and care, but I am always away out of the country most of the times and will not be driving it that much anyway. Basically, this is what I am looking for, a reliable 450 too 500hp 300zx. If you would, I would be greatful if you guys can provide me a list that will enable me to see those kind of numbers, I just want something fast on the street, MY Z will not see a track, EVER!!. Don't even say the word track around my car, she might get offended. I have had a sports car before, a SRT 4, turbocharged, I would love the Z to be a little quicker than that, as I believe a good driver in a SRT 4 ran about 13's on the track. Please include a list as far as what I need to do to this car to make it reliable of handling 450 to 500 hp. I will select things off this list and take it directly to my mechanic. I know I said, there is no budject sorry, I have came to my sense's and was talking crazy. lol, I am willing to spend 10,000 on the engine, not including what I have already paid, any help would be very much appreciated.
Money I have spent already,
Engine, 3,200 plus shipping
Engine Installation - 1,400.
10,000 more to go.

I knew this was around here somewhere: https://www.zdriver.com/forum/300zx-...-charts-14070/
Use it as a guide, talk regularly with your mechanic, and understand that those hp numbers are probably a bit of a liberal estimate in order to sell more parts. Specifically parts from those two vendors. Also take a look at some of the bigger Z32 shops like Z1 and SZ as they offer "performance packages" that can give you an idea of what you'd need for where you want your car to be.
$10K for around 500hp is totally plausible if you were doing the work yourself. Paying someone, well that's going to depend on how much your mechanic charges...

Good copy Sir, I have printed the list. I believe it will make more sense to add some of these things while they are doing the swap. I wonder should I be worried about changing pistons and rods before I start adding this kind of power. You are probably right, Labor will probably estimate around 2 or 3k. This has been a great help, thanks for the needed advice.
