Non-working Tail Lights?...

Got some tail lights out on my 95 Z32.
I've tried checking the bulbs and the stop lamp fuse is fine.
It may be something really simple but idk.
Any suggestions?
:/

Any more details on what's working and what's not? One side of my red taillights don't work, but they work for breaking. All the bulbs work too, as I've swap tested all of them. All the connections get power except for the specific regular taillight ones. This means it's some kind of wiring issue further up in the car, so for now at least I'll probably just run a wire from my functioning side to my malfunctioning side. Hope this helps some.

yeah after looking at it closer i can tell that the stop lights work when lights are turned on, but the bulbs dont get brighter when brake is depressed. i was told it was a second filiment in those bulbs that wasnt working?...

Yes they are dual filament but it's a bit coincidental two that both the same filaments on the same side are out at the same time on two different bulbs, don't you think? Crawl inside there and swap the bulbs to the other side of the car, see if they work.

Yeah actually both bulbs from the stop lights on both sides are malfunctioning.
I went and talked to one of the nissan techs in town and they said to ground test the harnesses.
Which is what I was afraid of.
But, off topic, you wouldn't happen to know anything about Z32's having engine cooling problems would you? Lol

Yup I've seen it plenty around the web. I had problems too, but not actually with overheating. I kept on loosing coolant and would see my engine smoking now and again. After trying to figure out what the problem was for about two weeks, I decided to just replace the rad. It turns out the old rad was all mucked up where the cap snaps on, so it was spewing coolant when any pressure built up.

Yeah I found my leak the hard way. Was driving home from work (which is 30 min away, mind you) and through a process of stopping about 3 times and waiting for it to cool down and refilling it with more coolant, I noticed it was spewing from the back side of the block, which of course you can guess how much fun that is gonna be to get to. So my Z is parked until I have the money/parts to go ahead and do my tt swap. :\

Ensure you are using standard 1157 bulbs and not some after market high wattage or LED type of bulb.

If you have already used a non standard bulb you may have messed up your rear tail light "Green" or "Brown" box. Inside the rear plastic panel is a small 2" x 1.5" x 5" palstic box that may be breen or brown or black. This is a relay for your rear lights and it may have been compromised if in correct bulbs were used or a short in the wiring occured. This should also initiate a brake light warning indication on your instrument cluster. Have you seen this as well? That rear tail light relay contains a very simple circuit board and a can sldi out of the end of it's holder. Inspect that circuit board to see if anything may look askew. I had to replace 2 resisters on that circuit board 5 years ago as they were not delivering the correct resistance value indicated by their colored bands. Since that repair my tail lights have worked just fine.

As far as cooling issues go, it may be best to start a new thread and deal with that subject matter on it's own. Once you do that I can post some links as to what to look for after you've provided some surrounding info and history on the subject.
