one piece drivshaft
Sorry if this question has been asked before, i am new to this forum. this question is for anyone who has a one piece driveshaft...obviously there is a mechanical advantage-less moving parts-but is it worth it?

I have been told that the 1 piece driveshaft will shave .1-.2 seconds off of your quarter mile time. I have one, but haven't installed it yet. It's been sitting in the garage for 5 months. I have a high speed/low RPM vibration that I believe is coming from the driveshaft, but won't know for sure until I change it out. I wouldn't have purchased it if i didn't feel it was worth it.

If you have the vibrations and/or a noisy one, it is definately worth swapping. My two piece shook the car at 45-70mph and sounded like I was being followed by a helicopter - a bad rear u-joint. Noise is gone after the replacement. Make sure that your U-joints can be replaced on the new one, and it's a no brainer, swap it! As far as performance goes, I didn't see any huge gains with it.

have an aluminum one..
my car had a vibration in it at certain speeds and during hard acceleration. i got a new aluminum driveshaft from stillen and it solved the problem. the driveshaft is not made by stillen but by power train industries. stillen can get you a better price then going strait to power train. Z1 motorsports also makes a 1 piece steel shaft for about 150 less than the one from stillen. i notice the car revs a little faster than before. worth the money IMO.

Yea, I definitely plan on putting a one piece driveshaft in mine real soon. I'm going to get the one from Z1 for $240.00. I think I'm getting a bit of vibration out of my original one. I just bought the car with 117,000 miles on it and as hard as I'm going to drive it I don't expect the original one to last much longer. Besides I can't figure out why Nissan went with that 2 piece shaft in the first place. To me it just looks like an overcomplicated/overweight piece of junk.

You can also look at a carbon one piece. Here are 2 sources.

they are on the pricey side but they eliminate harmonic warp and also if you ever throw a shaft the worst that can happen is polishing the underside of your car. absolutely the safest thing out there.
