Please help choose ASAP!
Sorry about the urgency of my title.
Looking at a few 300zx TT, and found a few around. Found one locally in California, the right color, but the mileage is 120k. Price is a tad high at 9k, but OBO accepted. Seller is a local used car dealer, so he has no idea about 120k maintainence etc. I'd love to get a car with lower miles, but all are miles away in other states, and this one passes the visual and eye ball test.
Now, my brother found a nice one in NJ (I live in CA), a 92 300TT with only 52k miles for the same price. But it's across the US...worth getting the one in NJ? or is 120k miles not a big deal if the price is right?

lol Dude, get the one with 52k miles. $9k for 120k miles with unknown 120k service, coming from a dealership... that's a bad deal.
And for your reference, I paid $5490 for a 1990 TT with 126k, $5500 for a 1990 TT with 123k. $9k for that car is simply too much. But $9k for 52k miles is MUCH more reasonable.
Only a first-time buyer would even have a question of which car to choose. lol Seriously... less than half as many miles for the same price.

Thanks. I tend to be a on the spot, gotta have it, impulsive buyer, so needed that post. lol. My brother's going to check the car out tomorrow. But I'm so tempted to buy this one around the house! The seller says it's on ebay, and may sell much cheaper than advertised 9k...right now it's 5k with 7 hrs to go. Hard to keep away, but all things point to the one with 52k miles.

With 7 hours to go, a car that may not have had it's proper service done and has 120k miles already at the price I paid for each of my similarly-mileaged TT's, both having had the service done...
Don't be an idiot. A Z32 should never be an impulse buy. You would seriously regret it when you have to start dumping thousands of dollars into repairs. Have you even researched these cars to see what typical repairs cost? If not, go over to TwinTurbo.NET and search posts and read the FAQ and Tech articles. (SEARCH, don't post - they'll tear you apart if you ask a question that's been frequently covered.)

Through my travels on eBay, the z32s at dealers always seem to be "optimistically" priced. You'll often see terms like 'collector's car" and suggesting easy engine swaps to small block chevy v8s. Perhaps they are looking at the prices for heavily modified cars for comparison. It is a gorgeous design and seems like it should be worth more.
I agree these cars are not impulse decisions; they are complex and the maintenance is fairly expensive. I wouldn't want one that has been hooned to death, wrecked and revived.
