I just turned 19 and am dying to get myself a car. I found a 1990 300zx, auto, with 85k miles. The dealer is asking $7250. I plan on going to see the car within the next 2 days but was wondering if you guys think this is a reasonable price. Also, are there any known problems with 90 300zx's that I should look for (I will definately have a mechanic check it out before I would buy it). Also, when having the car checked out, should I go to a Nissan dealership to have it checked out? Thanks a lot in advance, I hope I can get in this car very soon.

just got a 90 auto with 82000, had trans probs got it rebuilt for 1250 . labor and all. thats the only prob i have had so far.

 

7250 sounds reasonable, but a little on the high side. I don't really like dealers when it comes to purchasing a car like this, but if you check it over carefully it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't take it to the Nissan dealership, they blow pretty hard from the stories I have read. I would take it to a local Z shop, most places that I have been to have mechanics that specialize in nissan Zs.

Ohh ya, 10% at least. You need to haggle him down at least 10%, thats pretty much standard procedure. Don't pay sticker price.
