Relocating my battery

I purchased a battery relocation kit from Summit Racing, and plan on installing it in the passenger side rear most corner of the car. I've heard that sometimes there are issues with the car running when it is grounded at different points other than the OEM. The negative ground cable provided is short, and meant to be grounded to the metal floor in the trunk.

Anyone know more about this? Should I buy a super long negative cable and run it up to the front along with the positive?

I also plan on replacing my battery with a Optima Redtop so it doesn't emit hydrogen fumes. Do these batteries still need to be vented?

Ground cables are supposed to be short.... the shorter the better. As long as it's securely mounted to a main piece of body metal, it will be fine.

Sealed batteries don't need to be vented...

Thank you! Mounted the box today and got my positive cable ran up next to the ECU so far. I need to figure out how to get it through the firewall. I've read that some people cut a hole in a boot or something that is there in order to squeeze it and get it through to the engine bay. Is there an easier way to get it through to the engine bay without removing the splash guard or doing anything crazy?
