Rough Idle/Slow | ID Helpt
i installed my ngk plugs and put in new air filters to see if it would help the cause. to no effect it still runs slow and has a really rough idle. i had to charge my battery, so i took it out. and saw some hoses that weren't connected. i went ahead and fabricated an add-on to Hose 1 to Hose 2, and no clue what Hose 3 is, it looks like it was sliced. any idea ? also, im going to have my timing belt checked to see if its off. could this be why im running slow and having a bad idle ?
[EDIT] oh yea, this time around on revving it, no black smoke [less carbon build up] but had a lot of white smoke

question for you, what's your VIN?
that module is not in my NA. My buddy stopped by just now with his 95TT and he has it.
the hose that comes outta the balance tube goes to the intake tube on the passenger side throttle body, the hoses that come from that module go to a pair of steel tubes that then split. One goes to the intercooler tube other goes to the underside of the throttle body on the passenger side.

The hose off the balance tube on mine went to the AIV solenoid. See my post here: https://www.zdriver.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12860
Seraphic, that hose going across the engine bay looks like the one that goes to the AIV unit under the fenderwell. That's how it was setup on mine before I took the AIV system out. If you only have one solenoid by the battery I bet the previous owner removed the AIV solenoid.

Just get some mid pipes and eliminate the whole damn system. I believe that hose 3 is direct a vacuum leak; which of course could have an advers effect on performance and idle. Stuff a golf tee into hose 3 and call it a day.

Seraphic, if you get an aftermarket ECU you can just junk the whole thing. You can get plugs for your cats or do like 91 said and get mid pipes.
