Should I go with test pipes?
Some may recall a few posts a while back about my crap exhaust, and how when i first got my Z "to pass inspection" they put 2 giant cats in an odd looking place and they keep scraping on everything everywhere i go. i found a place that will cut them off and put a straight pipe in their place. would it be better to just go with test pipes?

what about the flew joints? arent they a good thing to have around? theyre there now right? would it be a good idea to get rid of them. i dont see flex jointed cat pipes on there. i see pipes, cat pipes, and flex jointed pipes.

The OEM exhaust doesn't have any flex pipes. Flex pipes are only necessary with something like the Iconel exhaust manifolds that Specialty Z sells. You don't need them with what you have. The new test pipes will use the factory exhaust hangers.

I bought the full exhaust from Specialty Z. I only had one problem and that's that it started smoking. I talked to my mechanic and he suggested re-inserting the stock cats. It fixed the problem. The great thing about the Specialty Z exhaust is that it's completely interchangeable with the stock exhaust.

Note - it violates federal regulations to sell a car with emission controls if they are removed. I suggest that you keep your cats and REPLACE them so you can restore the car back to a emission-equipped level should you decide to dispatch with your car.
(Just kuz I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me! )
